Momentum is what we are calling our effort to take our entire church through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University (FPU). We have offered individual classes in the past, but this time our vision is much bigger. Our goal is for 80% of our congregation to attend a FPU class within the first six months of 2019. In order for everyone to have the opportunity to participate, we are building multiple classes at multiple times and locations.
Our vision is to see our members free from the bondage of financial strain no matter where they are in life so that they will be able to give as the Lord calls them to. Things like debt and living paycheck to paycheck can lock families into survival mode. With the use of FPU, we pray our members are able to break out of survival mode into thriving mode in every area of their lives.
No matter what situation you are in, your age, how many kids you have, or how much money you make, we believe it isn't too late or too early to learn how to take control of your money. We want everyone to feel welcome in each class and know they will never have to share personal information in class. We are here for each other, standing side by side as we learn how to handle money God's way.
We believe there are things to learn from FPU for anyone regardless of age or stage. For this reason we will be offering classes for kids and teenagers, too!
Children will learn a simplified version of FPU filled with fun crafts and projects put together by our children's coordinator, Rebekah Benson. This class will be on Sunday evenings beginning January 13 in the Awana room.
Youth will be going through Dave Ramsey's program, "Generation Change" led by our student pastor Chris Cooper on Wednesday evenings beginning January 16 in the Youth Room.
