Welcome to GO Kids; the children’s ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church. This is the place to find out about activities, information and ministries for children from birth through 5th grade. Information pertaining to all age groups can be found on this page, while age specific information can be located on their own section as indicated below.
Children’s ministries are divided in to 3 main areas. Nursery includes children from birth through age 2. Sometimes 3 year olds are cared for in the nursery, such as on Sunday nights. Preschool encompasses children aged 3 years through kindergarten. Children who are in first through fifth grades are included in the Elementary section.
Here at IBC we believe that every child is a precious gift from God. Our goal is to introduce children to who God is and his great love for them, lead them to a saving knowledge of Christ and disciple them so they can grow in their relationship with Jesus. We consider it a privilege to partner with parents in this great endeavor. As parents take this journey with their child, we strive to be an encouragement to them and resource for them. There is no greater or nobler task than raising godly children.
We are honored that you have entrusted your children to our care and guidance while you are at IBC. In order to make sure that your children are as safe as possible, we have established several child protection policies.
Each time you bring a child to Bible Fellowship or Worship, you need to stop by the child check-in desk located in the nursery entry area. There you will receive a name tag for your child and a matching pick-up tag for you to keep. The name tag will be placed on your child’s back so it is easily visible and cannot be easily removed by the child. When you are ready to pick-up your child, present you pick-up tag to your child’s teacher. The teacher will check to see that the tags match and then your child will be released to you. If you are unable to pick up your child yourself, you may give your tag to another adult who will pick up your child for you. Persons without tags will not be allowed to pick up a child. We also do not release children to persons younger than 16 years of age. If you lose your pick-up tag, report to the Nursery Director or Children’s Pastor to establish proof of identity.
We provide ongoing training for all of our children’s workers in child safety and child abuse prevention and awareness. All of our children’s workers are required to undergo a background check. Our nursery coordinators and many of our children’s workers are CPR certified.
Our nursery and preschool rooms are equipped with security cameras to monitor the activity in that room. Parents may check on their child without going to the room by viewing the camera screens located at the nursery check-in desk.
Childcare for children older than nursery age is provided at some church events that take place outside of normal Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday night times.
Childcare will be advertised in advance and reservations are strongly suggested. To make childcare reservations, please contact the children’s ministry office at 479-636-1230.
Childcare is provided only for church functions. Parents must attend the church event and stay on campus while their child is in childcare. This policy includes Sunday and Wednesday nights.
Children will be received in rooms 15 minutes prior to an event and should be picked up as soon as possible after the event is over.
