Haiti Mission Trip March 2011
Our most recent team to Haiti consisted of three people from our youth department. Chris Cooper, the student minister, Joseph Elder, a dedicated youth worker and evangelist, and Titus Gamble, a young man in the youth group whom God called to the ministry. The purpose of the mission was to help lead, preach, and minister at the annual youth conference held every year in Mole St. Nicholas during Mardi Gras. This conference gives an alternative to the voodoo practiced during their Mardi Gras festival. There were well over 500 students who attended the conference and over 200 decisions were made, some for salvation and others for life rededication. Immanuel Baptist Church supports the conference every year by sponsoring a large portion of the food for the conference and by sending missionaries to assist. This year each member of our team was able to preach at the conference, preach on a local radio station, assist in a vacation Bible school, and do street evangelism and prayer walking. Our vision is to be able to send every one of our regular and faithful youth members onto the foreign mission field before they graduate.
